Paris

We just got back from the most amazing trip to Paris. I've wanted to go my whole life, especially since we've been in Europe. Going before Christmas was magical. Zane was the absolute best traveler ever too. He was pretty much in his stroller the whole day, and he didn't mind one bit. I think he loved checking out the sites just as much as we did.

We started our trip out with a magical cab ride down the Champs Elysees, around the Eiffel Tower, and finally to our apartment to check in. Zane loved the cab, checking out all the beautiful lights, seeing all the people and our amazing cab driver. He was so great, and Zane loved him!! Zane was squealing and dancing as we drove around. It was pretty dang cute. It was a great start to our trip.

The next day we got up and started our day by hitting up the Starbucks next to our apartment and finding a little bakery for breakfast. Our neighborhood, "St Germain" was great. Tons of cute little shops, restaurants, and quaint little Parisienne streets. We were about a five minute walk from Notre Dame, so that was our first stop of the day. Notre Dame is pretty spectacular, and it was interesting to learn a little about the history of it too. It took over 500 years to build. Pretty crazy. We walked from Notre Dame to the Louvre which was just acrosss the river, and explored the "Jardin du Tuileries" and decided to hop on  the metro to head to "Versailles" .Versailles was pretty spectacular. We didn't go inside, as strollers were not allowed, but we can't wait to go back and explore the inside. After that we ventured our way back to the Champs Elysees. There were Christmas Markets up and down both sides making it almost impossible to walk down with a stroller, sooooo many people. We went back the next day, and it was much less crowded. We decided to have dinner in our neighborhood and then hit the hay. We were exhausted,

Day two, was probably my favorite. Derek had everything planned out to a t, and it was pretty amazing. We walked to "Laduree" and from there to the "Lock Bridge". Derek brought a lock with our names on it, we locked in on the bridge, and threw the keys in the river. Very romantic. Then it was on to the "Eiffel Tower". One of my favorite things about Paris is that you can see the Eiffel Tower from almost anywhere. It's pretty amazing. Every hour at night for about 5 minutes it sparkles too. So beautiful. The next part of the day was amazing, Derek told me we were headed to the "Arc de Triomphe". Little did I know he had a little surprise for me. We just happened to walk right to Louis Vuitton, where he took me inside and bought me my first Louis for my Christmas gift. I was so surprised and of course on cloud 9. What a great keepsake from this amazing trip! Wet hen went to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and saw the amazing views of Paris from up high. The view of the Champs Elysees was amazing. Pretty magical.

The last day of our trip we kinda took it easy. Explored our little neighborhood some more, did some shopping, and had some Crepes. Derek loved all the sweets. Crepes and waffles with Nutela were his favorites. Macaroons were mine. Zane enjoyed them too haha! We had the best time, and can not wait to go back. I can't express how thankful I am for Derek and all his planning. He really did make it so special. Every little romantic gesture will never be forgotten. I am one lucky girl. Love my boys so much!!
